Vintage Vibe started in 1997 with one person renting keyboards in New York. Carroll and master technician Fred DiLeone spent a decade bringing dead Rhodes, Wurlitzers and Clavinets back, then in 2009 decided the way to get a better one was to build it. The Recording Club runs on the same belief: gear belongs in rooms, in sessions, in hands. Platinum puts Vintage Vibe inside the building, and the four doors below are already built and live. Vintage Vibe exists because instruments were rotting in closets instead of being played. The club is where they get played. Four things Platinum builds for Vintage Vibe, all included in the membership.
A Vintage Vibe 73 lives permanently in the main tracking room, next to the piano. Every R&B, jazz and neo-soul session that reaches for a Rhodes sound plays yours instead of a plugin. The artists on your own roster are the artists who book rooms like ours.
The instrument gets featured on sessions, and we print a Vintage Vibe look book to live in the building. When a player finishes a take and asks what that Rhodes sound was, staff hand them the book and send them to you.
Owners register by serial and get the build record of their own instrument. Artists publish their knob positions. The parts drawer becomes a diagram of your action, so the hammer tip that fits serial 4412 is one tap away. The whole vision is live on the app board. We already shipped this app for Darryl Jones's bass owners, so yours is a build, not a promise.

The list is not fixed. Platinum means the club's design and engineering team works for Vintage Vibe. Sites and apps are designed and built at no cost, then maintained at $70 an hour, half our public rate. You build every piano one at a time, by hand.
